Traditional Timber Frame Construction

For local projects near our East London workshop, we use traditional on-site timber frame construction to minimise transport and maximise build efficiency.

Modular Pre-Fabricated Construction

Our off-site prefabrication process combines advanced digital modelling with CNC manufacturing to produce lightweight WISA Spruce structural plywood cassettes, enabling rapid assembly and efficient delivery to sites with restricted access.

Off-Site Construction for Crane Delivery

Off-site manufactured timber frame modules are delivered by crane in up to three sections, or as a fully assembled studio where site access allows, resulting in rapid one-day installation and immediate occupancy.

Our Story

BouwenStudios was founded from a passion for architecture and a desire to bring thoughtful, bespoke design to smaller buildings. After studying and working in architecture, our founder recognised a growing need for people to improve their homes rather than move, while also noticing a gap in the market for well-designed, sustainably built garden studios. Too often, studios were being built from low-quality materials with little consideration for design, longevity, or environmental impact. BouwenStudios was created to challenge that approach - combining architectural thinking, sustainable timber construction, and digital fabrication to create beautifully crafted spaces that are tailored to each client and built to last.
